Horse Racing Tips and Racing Systems That Work…At least some of the time anyway!

A welcome 9/1 winner

By on Feb 3, 2010 in Aida Racing |

The month did not start too well with 2 points lost on Monday and another 2 on Tuesday, but today we had an excellent 9/1 winner with ‘Sarah’s Art’ in the 2.15 at Lingfield. We also had the favourite in the race ‘Striker Torres’ running for us at 11/4 but the hat trick hunter could not do the business today. That was of course in our favour with the 9/1 shot getting home just on the line.

‘Sarah’s Art’ has been a NAP selection previously but did not run well on that occasions, the horse was selected on both occasions however because on the form figures it was one of the best horses in the race, if not the best. Today the selection was forecast at 8/1 and drifted out after opening to a high of 11/1 before being backed in just before the off to 9/1. Watching the race it was apparent the horse was not only there to win but was capable of winning.

Today’s tip is about horses that drift in the betting. Just because a horse drifts in the market does not mean that they will not win. Many people who Lay horses to lose will look for a horse that drifts out and then Lay it, if that horse then wins they will have lost more than if they had laid it at the earlier shorter price. A horse may drift for several reasons and the main one is simply to balance to books, i.e. there is one or more other horses that have attracted money.

Just as all backed in horses do not win all horses that drift out do not necessarily lose. Most horses that are backed do not win and most horses that drfit out do not win, the trick is to try and do sufficient form study to ascertain which are the better horses to back regardless of what the respective prices do.
