If you have been reading the Racing Post or any of the racing press you can’t have failed to notice that Paul Hanagan is going great guns to try and win this years Jockey Title.

He is presently on 161 winners for the season but there is another top jockey ready to snap at his heals and that jockey is the great Richard Hughes.

Richard Hughes is currently on 151 winners for the season and is looking to ride as much as possible for the remainder of the season. There’s no doubt however that Paul Hanagan will be looking to do exactly the same thing.

So in October there is one thing we can be pretty sure of and that is that both Paul Hanagan and Richard Hughes will be trying really hard to ride as many winners as possible.

I am not saying that all jockeys don’t try all of the time of course, but some do seem to try a little harder than others at times. For the two jockeys in question there is no doubt in my mind that until one of them feels the title is beyond reach both will be riding out of their skins to ride those winners.

So today’s Tip is simply to follow both jockeys for October or at least until one of them has an unasaleable lead.
