It wasn’t a good start to Epsom yesterday for the service with a 6th and a 4th place from two tips, but we made up for it today, here’s what was said…

“In the Derby all the talk is about whether ‘Dawn Approach’ will stay the distance and while the horse looks the class of the race I feel the price is too short to be taking a chance on. If the favourite doesn’t stay, and there’s plenty who think he won’t, the race looks an open one. There is one horse and only one horse who is proven to stay and that is ‘Ruler Of The World’ who at 8/1 looks worth a shot in this great race.”

The favourite ‘Dawn Approach’ did not run as expected having appeared to get his tongue over the bit and he didn’t settle at all. With hindsight now however it is clear to see that the best horse over this distance was the winner.

‘Ruler Of The World’ and Ryan Moore stormed into the lead in the home straight and won what ended up being a very competitive Derby.
