That is not a bad hit rate by anyones standards but it was the CTC bet that was the 3rd place after stumbling at the start. In a 5 furlong sprint at Southwell you don’t have time to stumble and on that sand you are not going to catch up. ‘Bertiewhittle’ almost did mind finishing in 3rd place at a well supported 13/8.

The winners came in the form of the two of the three dutching races yesterday, where in the 2.00 at Kelso the selections finished 1st and 2nd with ‘Devil Water’ winning at 100/30. Later ‘Freedom Flyer’ won the 6.15 at Southwell at 5/1 and in the Chester Cup ‘Tastahill’ could only manage 2nd at 8/1.

I did some work last night on all of my unofficial CTC selections so far and the strike rate is high, over 60% and not a one horse has been unplaced. I have another bet today and there only looks to be one real danger in the race but that could all change of course.
