The BLOG was without a winner yesterday which was disappointing when there have been a few winers this week, I hope to put that right today.

In the 2000 Guineas today ‘Frankel’ is of course the one to beat but at the price I could never dream of backing him. This is his biggest test to date and Newmarket is a tough course so I prefer to take him on with two horses with good place chances in the hope that one the two can beat the hot favourite.

On Channel 4’s The Morning Line this morning Frankie Dettori said he could not see ‘Frankel’ being beaten but his mount ‘Casamento’ is also a class horse and stranger this have happened in racing. Aidan O’Brien has a good record in this race and he has booked Ryan Moore to ride ‘Roderick O’Connor’ who should also have a chance. So in the big race those are my two alternatives to the short priced favourite.
