The Winner of The Betfair Chase is…

In last years race the great ‘Kauto Star’ beat ‘Imperial Commander’ by the shortest of margins and it had looked like the challenger had actually beaten ‘Kauto’ but that was not to be.

Today ‘Imperial Commander’ is forecast at 8/11 which while he is no doubt something special after winning last years Gold Cup, for his first run of the year after 226 days away it looks a bit short.

‘Planet Of Sound’ forecast at 8/1 has disappointed in the past at least on what was expected of him, but despite the hot favourite having a big weight advantage racing is rarely a clear cut as the form would suggest.

3.25 Haydock – No.5 Planet Of Sound

Another excellent looking race today is the Ascot Hurdle Race where ‘Zaynar’ bids to win the race for the second year running. At the price however I am going for ‘Karabak’ forecast at 7/2, ridden by Tony McCoy for the in form Alan King.

2.35 Ascot – No.7 Karabak

Good luck
